@belehaa 100%, there is no use of "AI" (probabilistic automation systems) that is ethical right now.
@sharpcheddargoblin @belehaa Is using your clothes or shoes ethical though?

Tips for ethical AI use:
1. Don't
It’s unfortunate that you have to seriously consider the environmental impact of my normal go-to strategy for this kind of technology: kill it with fire.

ok spazcosoft, what has to happen is you PERSONALLY have go to the bedside of someone dying of cancer and tell them:
I know your doctor said there is this new AI treatment that might help, but you, the dying patient need to refuse this treatment, cause I, spazcosoft, have principles
fair enough ?

@failedLyndonLaRouchite @belehaa
A) you KNOW that’s not what OP was talking about.
B) Yes ML techniques have been used for a lot of things for years, but it’s only propaganda that these companies are using to brainwash the mentally deficient (you) into defending them with.
Chatgpt is not going to cure cancer. Stop defending them.

not quite sure i get what you are saying about ML, but Googles alpha fold, which I think is ML, got a nobel prize
as a Phd in a relevant field, I know that alphafold did in fact deserve a nobel prize
as to point A, the OP wants to edit their post so it is clear, that is their priviledge

@belehaa so, you are absolutely, a 100%, sure there is no ethical use of AI, right?

@failedLyndonLaRouchite @belehaa Machine Learning ≠ LLM. LLMs require ML, but ML does not require LLMs

@david_chisnall @belehaa if by fire you mean marines with high explosive visiting the data centres, then I think we're all good with that.

There’s a lot of stuff in datacentres that’s toxic. You may want to apply the Ripley strategy to ensure that you are not breathing in the fumes. Again, not great for the environment though.
