@eniko You know that this is as old as the first cave paintings, nay, the first finger drawings in the mud? Artists and artisans have been ranting about this at least as long as the oldest sources we have indicate. Possibly the second work of art ever created was expressing this sentiment about a poor copy of the first work of art.

@eniko She now, after some years of explaining, understands ... but reminded me in the past where mom was showing me stuff like "Flappy Bird" ( she read on the news about ) and going "Look this guy made millions with that game, why don't you do the same ?" .. Generative AI is odd .. much more ... because some people think that "AI made is good / nice" they think 'is good because I told it what to do' .. it's like when rich people considered 'manual labor' vulgar/uninteresting/worthless ..

If you want to make AI text or images or code I guess you do you (although you're buying into a fascist pillaging of the commons and environmental destruction, so uhh, don't do you actually) but it doesn't make you an author, artist, or even programmer and it never fucking will
