    #Earth She stopped shining... Photos of Earth taken in 1972 by Apollo 17 versus in 2026 by Artemis II show alarming differences.. The Blue Pearl is becoming green jade? https://www.linkedin.com/posts/kasper-benjamin-reimer-bj%C3%B8rkskov-660a4899_she-stopped-shining-note-yes-two-share-7447506784610775041-eCCC

      @bettina

      Seems like Kasper is using images of a sunshine and a moonshine illuminated earth?

      So, perhaps not the best or most scientifically accurate way to get the story across?

      I've tried reading the comments on the post, and it seems like Kasper should have simply refrained from using the images and just post the sources instead.

        @folfdk Do you have sources to back up that one is lit with sunlight, the other with moonlight? I don't know either way, just curious how you would be able to see / deduce that?

        But other than that: He does say that science says the water is getting greener etc. - so he is using the earth-pictures as illustration of his point? Not as a scientitic proof of it?

          @bettina

          The recent image from the Artemis II mission is here

          https://www.nasa.gov/image-article/hello-world/
          Text from the link:
          ... There are two auroras (top right and bottom left) and zodiacal light (bottom right) is visible as the Earth eclipses the Sun...

          The 1972 image is here
          https://www.nasa.gov/image-article/earth-full-view-from-apollo-17/
          But unfortunately they don't specifically mention the position of the sun relative to the spacecraft

          The Wikipedia article
          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Blue_Marble#Photograph
          Mentions that the sun is in zenith, i.e above them.
