@renchap Please see this thread, each recording as well. Is this intended or a bug? There are some limitations on quote post when doing replies in a thread.

What happens when you try to paste the URL of the post you want to quote into the reply?
Is it not letting you do that?
You should be able to do it by clicking ... on the post you want to quote, and then click "copy link to status", then go and start the reply, then paste the URL you just copied into that reply.

That does look like a bug, but I can't reproduce the bug it on my server so it's possibly either intermittent or server-specific.
Does this happen consistently on your server? Do you have an alt account on another server you could try doing the same quote on?
One thing especially to try, does it work for you if you're using an account on a vanilla Mastodon server? I'm wondering if this is possibly related to the Glitch fork.
