This time they ran my script through an AI "podcast" generator (likely the free one by Adobe) and put it under the footage from my latest video.
When I make my videos, I spend hours travelling and filming on-location to get real footage that can't be found anywhere else.
Then these AI slop creators steal it and release it as their own.
About 90% of my exposure to "AI" these days is just slop farms ripping me off.

@notjustbikes Totally agree. Youtube is becoming more and more "enshitificated" lately with all this AI rubbish.
No surprises here. The same is happening with many other platforms and services across the internet.
Internet was something amazing just 12 or 15 years ago. It's astonishing how quickly it has evolved into this pigsty thanks to big techs and their greed, their AI and their algorithms.
Fortunately, there's places like the Fedivers or Nebula that provide a much healthier experience.
@jo @notjustbikes all the challenges are real but slow down with that sentiment. if i cut&pasted second half of your comment from now to 15 years ago and replaced "AI" with "social media" it would look equally true and equally outraging... we overcame that challenge and we will overcome this one.

The video is offline because I sent them a copyright takedown, but here's a segment of it. Just vapid, useless slop.
YouTube is becoming flooded with this garbage and it's actively making the platform less viable for real creators to make real content.

Alternatives for youtube exist and are often far superior. Nebula is a lot cheaper than youtube and completely free of ads, shorts, algorithmic feeds, user tracking and dark patterns. No bullshit, just content and direct support for your favourite creator.

@notjustbikes I had a YT channel, made like 30 videos, was starting to get some traction. One of those Top Ten list channels stole my footage, ripped out the audio and put their own garbage over top. Filed a copyright infringement with YT. Provided all the things they asked for, links, timestamps, etc. Repeatedly. Got 0 help from them.
Now I don't post content. I run uBlock origin AND Adblock Plus, and watch videos every day without ever seeing an ad.
Fuck YouTube.

IMHO it should be in Youtubes own interest to block pure AI slop. If the platform becomes known to be flooded with slop, people will inevitably turn away and that means less revenue for them.

Meanwhile the rest of the company has the slop machine running on full-tilt.

You do have to watch out for grumpy-old-man-syndrome as you age, but the enshitification of everything is real and *the algorithms* and AI have very much been a huge part of ruining it all.

I'm glad I can support my favourite creators (like yourself) on Nebula but this is far from a satisfying answer.
Without creators making interesing videos, youtube is just an empty box.
They really need to step up if it wants to protect its legacy and its future@noncandeggiare @notjustbikes I doubt they do. Just want to hoover up as much money as possible as fast as possible and don't care one bit.
