What google (and apple) does feels wrong. Today "only" verification, tommorow a point where government can start the overreach like in the apple case in multiple countries.

People just don't realise how it works. Apple said locked bootloaders are only a security feature and now it used it for behavior control. (A locked bootloader makes it impossible to bypass whatever apple chooses to implement)
