The children often wondered what treasures lay beneath the large mound of cement placed sloppily in the middle of the commons. Words set into the mound “Do Not Open ‘til Christmas 3001”.
Old Anton, the park’s custodian, smiled past his snowy beard; “marvelous things from the past, for this was once a billionaire’s bunker” he would tell them.
He did not tell the children about the mouldering bones inside, sealed in by an angry populace, almost a century before.
