But bsky people will remain on bsky unless it gets Twitter levels of Nazi Bad, and if it does they'll just go to Threads or stop doing short form text social media altogether. Because the alternative is Mastodon and too many of them have so much invested in the myth that Mastodon is hard to use and "nobody is there". Linux lol lol lol. Etc.

But more seriously it's extremely obvious that Bluesky-the-company did not really want to run Bluesky-the-social-media-website - they wanted to build tools and infra for other people to do that, but they built it on atproto which is *difficult* for other people to build on, and they made what was basically a tech demo that got away from them and now these libertarian crypto AI doofuses are stuck with a power base that hates all of those things.

People are panicking that bsky's dying, maybe next time don't use a social media site founded by American cryptocurrency libertarians
