@arrrg I worked there for four years and when the iPhone 7 Plus had the issues with the speaker, I was a senior advisor working on it with our engineers by constantly getting log files from people. Apple refused to fix any of those device devices that had speakerphone issues and they also refused to fix a lot of the Bendgate phones and things like that. Working there during that time really sucked because we were basically told we had to just tell people that it was their fault even though people were telling us they didn’t do anything to their phone that was outside of the normal realm of how their phone should be used. but we just had to tell people too bad. It’s your fault we say so. This was also right around the time they were getting sued for the battery life thing so….
