Wow, Microsoft just automatically enabling unencrypted uploading of people's files to their servers, as a "backup" measure. And then disabling the "feature" can mean losing the files. Yikes.

Honestly, bless the open source community(ies). We are so fortunate to have enough qualified people (and often companies supporting them) that make it possible to have a viable, usable alternative that is not beholden to the interests of corporate overlords.
