@ingi @pj the lack of ads, and automatic link-rewriting, is awesome. Eventually, you might run across some jerks, it’s part of dealing with humans in general, but so far there seem to be less jerks here than elsewhere, and the admins of each server have options to deal with them. A lot of your mastodon/Fediverse quality of experience depends on who is administering your server/instance and how much time/attention they are giving to it.

I’d warn you to not follow too many accounts at once though, it’s easy to over follow and get overwhelmed. You can also set notifications for posts on accounts you always want to see stuff from but again, use it cautiously. That notification feature is usually a little bell icon on the person’s profile (kinda like YT, “ don’t forget to hit that little bell icon”
