I am curious why you went with Mastodon instead of say Wordpress Activity Pub addon that is more about publishing to the fedi from existing web presence over a server instance for the museum?

@_elena @Mastodon bring it on. The more big institutions on the fediverse the better I think.
They should be running an instance for them and their staff.
