Do you even test? There are differences between mobile web UI and actual desktop web UI, one renders the other doesn't.

It is currently not possible to quote a post in a reply within a conversation thread on mobile web UI, period. On desktop fullscreen display, you can.

Testing which mobile apps are supports quote post.

@renchap Please see this thread, each recording as well. Is this intended or a bug? There are some limitations on quote post when doing replies in a thread.

@FediTips So this only works on desktop web UI (a computer with fullscreen layout) where it retains a quote, scrolling and point it into a reply?

This fails on mobile web UI and "desktop mode" because the compost input has no room to scroll and point it to? Even as janky as it is on mobile web/desktop mode, it will briefly retain the quote post in the compose input and trying to point it to a reply somehow clears the compose input. Is this the case?

If you want to quote a post within a reply without creating a new thread, you can do this by copy-pasting a link to the post you want to quote at the bottom of your reply:
Go to the post you want to quote in a reply.
Click ⋯ on the post you want to quote and select Copy Link to Post.
Go to the thread where you want to do a quote as your reply. Write your reply and paste the link you copied in step 2 at the bottom of your reply, then publish the reply.

I have yet to see it in action or elsewhere, can you backup your claim, maybe a screenshot or video step by step on how this can be done properly? Copy Link only shows as a link in replies within threads, not actual quote post.
