@jwz I'll post this to the general population: Heads up on those gloves. I've worked on similar technology (medical and HV design) so I'm aware of some of the design possibilities here. I read their patent. They are using too much charge to be intrinsically safe. A small, but non-zero number of people in the population risk death from those gloves (I strongly doubt they've taken into account the variation of human skin across the population, it's more than 2 orders of magnitude in resistivity). If they use multiple gloves on you at the same time, touching more than just one of your arms, you will be at elevated risk. I recommend you have long sleeves with conductive rings on them, like bracelets, spaced every 2 inches up your arm. That will greatly reduce the chance of you being harmed. Picture those silicone bracelets, have the outer surface conductive and that would be perfect. Stay dry. Then, know this: the muscle contractions that it will produce are far greater than what you have typically experienced. Picture the worst cramp you've ever had. It's that pain pulsing on and off. Be ready for it. It absolutely will do damage to your muscle, but you will heal in two or three days. I'm guessing a large percentage of the population can power through it once they know what to expect. There is, however, a range of pulse frequencies that is very hard to fight. You will almost certainly overreact and flail around, hitting people uncontrollably. I worry they will blame you and use it as an excuse to kill you. Whatever you do, don't consider having a large value low ESR cap charged to a high voltage that you can discharge into a coil of just a few turns such that it resonates at about 8 MHz while spewing a magnetic field. If a coil such as that were to discharge right next to the gloves you'd risk damaging the gloves (who knows, the lipo battery might even overload and flame on). I wouldn't recommend wearing those gloves.
