Weight is an issue but probably isn't as big of an issue as you might think. Battery tech has come a long way, and likely will improve with time as well.

Kind of like those prosthetic hands which were promoted a while back? I forgot what they were called exactly but their whole thing was open source and 3d printable.

It seems like it's just a prototype so probably not for a while. And even then it'll likely be a prescription type thing.
