AI companies will simply not be affected in any meaningful way if you if don’t write an alt text or write a useless one. You know why? Because alt text isn’t nearly enough even if it was perfect and they’ll pay for sweatshop level labor in the global south anyway.

This is why every time I hear people say “alt text helps train AI for free so I don’t do it” I want to slap someone. AI training won’t be stopped just because you didn’t add alt text to your stuff!!
