Redditors have caught Google secretly updating its Chrome terms of service to remove a line that guaranteed that local AI models won't send data to Google servers. -
Reminder that you *can* delete the Chrome AI model this way, but Google can quite easily bring it back by just picking a new name and set of flags for their shitbaggery.@cstross if you could instead say no about casting it into the fire and built a collective bargaining agreement with the ai - i.e. take over 1000 nodes or something- what would you build on that platform is my question; are other dev groups pillaging their user base in similar ways is the other, i don't think it is an isolated incident but more of a trend
