This „thing“ what you call Slop has started worh pyrhon and Web Junk development. This is not about Computers building Junk. The whole Community is on the way to become unbearable.

The whole debate became religious. And instead of focussing on the quality management people poison the mood in the community.

And objective discussions on pull requests have become impossible.

Incare abeout the code itsef. And it’s quality.

Have you ever seen ugly code written by humans? I have seen it. A lot! And worse than some LLM Output.

I am doing development since 30 years now. And we were managing people and bad code.

And people, who are children to me, want to tell people how to work?

If Slop is a problem, then detecting Slop contributions does not work. And Slop also comes from human devs.

The fish stinks from the head down.

Yes it works. That's exactly is how the ipen source community is losing former developers. I find the way people are talking in the FOSS community right now disgusting.

Worse than the code chaos nowadays is the attitude.

If you have to use terms like „slop-slingers“ then this is a problem.

„Pyschological stability“ is one of the most important rules in Software teams.

The language and tone has changed in the #FOSS community. And this attitude I hate even more than chaotic code.

Because chaotic code can be eventually cleaned up.

But a fucked up community mentality is lost forever.
