@drahardja @Gargron I totally agree with 90% of this. We need to switch to clean, renewable power as quickly as possible.

But “stop doing AI” is a pipe dream. It’s like telling Ford to “stop doing cars” in 1930.

AI, like cars, has benefits as well as major environmental drawbacks. A realistic goal is to get AI to a point where it is heavily regulated and doesn’t take massive data centers and enormous resources to be useful, and I think that’s possible in a very short time if we elect the right people.

@sylvie @zackwhittaker I agree that it’s weird and could be used in creepy ways - but the statement is sound.

The *audio* is not kept. The text transcript of the audio is kept. The audio takes up way too much space to hang on to.

You can decide if that’s better or not, but it is different.
