@chris yes, it would have been sweet to have a fediverse/mastodon groups software alternative. With smaller communities that you mentioned, it's almost mandatory with fb groups. And I don't use FB, so I'm locked out.

I have a bunch of use cases where I'd like to try and offer an alternative to FB groups, which has become the staple go to solution here in Sweden even among people who intuitively dislike FB. #fediverse

My "vision" is for a coop to be able to offer small accounts for free (like Google, MS and apple do) and then offer increased storage, custom domain etc for a cost (like Google, ms and apple do), to get people off big tech and onto European services. It should be feasible.
