COVID, though a disaster, could happened to any sitting President (though, undoubtedly, Trump's lack of leadership and chronic scientific incuriosity made it worse). But what's going on right now is absolutely a "No-one, literally nobody, Trump: 'Let's just make everything worse because I got my understanding of economics from the back of a cereal box'" situation, and I'm hoping even people who got their understanding of economics from budgeting fast food vs. mortgage payments can see it.

@evan Oh, absolutely. Americans do not know how it feels to be occupied; haven't had it happen since 1812.

I can't guarantee we wouldn't bite back like a rabid dog, but I can guarantee it would fuck with our identity fiercely to have a foreign sovereignty holding our soil.
