Came back to two of my veggie beds being absolutely overgrown with goosefoot (they’re new beds from this year so it’s probably because the seeds enjoyed being disturbed) and the horseradish poking up in new and exciting (not) spots.
Two hours of work today helped a bit though, but I’m happy I will have more time to get it under control again over the next few weeks

Time for the long trek home!@MThaastrup @nichni Jo men der er vist stadig kun en knap på den ene side. Og de fleste der kender knappen ved ikke at den skal trykkes på to gange for ikke at forblive åben

Time for the long trek home!Ok… the Danish IC3 trains have been in service for 35 years now.
I estimate that around 50% of passengers still don’t know how to open the internal doors 🫠
(For those not local to Denmark: it requires a horizontal hand wave side to side across the door; usually best done between 50 and 100cm from the sensor, but most of them can handle closer too
)

Time for the long trek home! This? This is a Danish train. Going to Copenhagen.
I made it! Barely, but I made it!
ETA Copenhagen: 00:00. Should have been 21:39, but at least it isn’t 04:30 🥲
Now I can finally settle in for a 5hr train ride without tight connections or worrying if I will manage to get home tonight

Time for the long trek home!Guess I’ll be on this bench for the next two hours.
Train from Apeldoorn to Osnabrück is now so delayed I can’t make my alternate train to Hamburg. Found another alternate train to Hamburg which should still let me catch the last direct train to Copenhagen (getting me there at midnight) - but I’m now down to a 30min connection time in Hamburg, so fingers crossed.
If I miss my connection in Hamburg I will be in Copenhagen around 4:30am… and I have work tomorrow at 8:30am.
Crossing fingers!

Time for the long trek home!Alright, this wasn’t the station I was supposed to be at, but apparently there’s a power failure further down the line and this was the only alternative route suggested…
… so now I have 1h45m to kill at Apeldoorn station until I can catch the next train towards Berlin (missed one by 10min of course) to get to Osnabrück… and all in all I will be home 2.5hrs later than planned.
Oh well, at least that should mean compensation I guess

Alright, new #introduction time!Alright, new #introduction time!
Hi, I'm Gitte, aka Mercy B. Coup if you know me through #rollerderby, or Lacrimae if you know me through #gaming. I live in Copenhagen, Denmark with my partner and 3 adorable cats.
I love officiating derby, #gardening #cats, #feminism, and (bad) puns.
I have (late diagnosed) #ADHD, I'm tall, awkward and suffer from impostor syndrome.
I used to be a software dev (mostly SQL) but currently work part time as a #stagehand as I needed a break after 20+ years

Time for the long trek home!Time for the long trek home! 5 trains and two border crossings ahead of me.
First train: a Sprinter from Dordrecht (NL) to Den Haag (NL) (on a separate ticket as I had originally planned to stay in Den Haag), then onto Hengelo (NL), Osnabrück (DE), Hamburg (DE) and finally Copenhagen (DK).
Feel free to mute me for the next 24h if you’re not interested in my #CrossBorderRail journey
I will start a new sub-thread under this post for each train change

Managed to get to Dordrecht, get picked up by a friend, eat some dinner… and forgot to post because I was tired!@anport the hardest part is changing trains so many times and not having any train ride (other than Copenhagen - Hamburg) be longer than 2 hours tbh

But hey, I made it with no delays!

Despite the current drought-like conditions, things are growing nicely, and the weather even looks nice enough for me to risk planting my tomatoes down there tomorrow!
Took a picture of today’s harvest: a lot of rhubarb, 15 radishes, some ramson and sorrel, and some lilacs because I love the smell!
