You can't do it before, unfortunately. There'll be a little hint that says that 30 days haven't passed yet.
The waiting and not knowing is atrocious, I know.

Is the old account still there? I had the same problem and the migration stopped after just a few followers.
BUT! You can re-initiate the migration after a 30 days waiting period as described in this article: https://fedi.tips/transferring-your-mastodon-account-to-another-server/I got everyone back in the second run. Wish you luck!
