Totally agree with you. I am no LLM expert, but I think LLMs can be weaponised to manipulate people in terms of e.g., opinion making (propaganda), marketing. Also: What if state actors manipulate the training data. What is the effect?
Again I am not expert, but important research in the LLM area should be reasoning and explainability
