I just have to post this #iceage masterpiece from time to time: A tiny (3.7 cm) but amazing figurine of a woolly mammoth carved in mammoth ivory some 40,000 years ago.
Found in the Vogelherd cave on the Swabian Jura, south-west Germany.

An early medival disc fibula (decorative pin for fastening garments/brooch) decorated with animal ornament and masks forming a cross. From a woman's grave in Krautheim-Klepsau, late 6th century.
During this period, the cross was often included in ornamental design. However, it can't always be clearly interpreted as a Christian symbol.
The brooch is made of gold-plated silver with garnet inlays, the eyes are inlaid with green glass and the nose with blue glass.

Like a scene from "Ben Hur": For #ReliefWednesday a terracotta relief depicting an accident at a chariot-race at the Circus Maximus.
The famous circus in #Rome can be recognised due to the seven movable dolphins on the central dividing barrier, the so-called spina. They were used to count the laps.
Chariot-racing was one of the most popular forms of entertainment in Roman times. The relief dates to the 1st century AD.
