I heard last week that the physics teacher of the daughter of one of my colleagues told the daughter that girls who do their nails don’t do physics.

That teacher's comment irks me so much.
On of the women in my high school Chemistry class went on to be a Chemistry professor. There were only two women in a class of 25.
Edit: She's retired now.
