@mloxton Oh gads, I'd completely forgotten you are also in med-mastodon. I migrated to fedimedi and I'm using ELK as the interface (fedimedi is a GoToSocial-based instance manged by the team of @wild1145 but that  does not have its own web interface).

The steps I took were (fedimedi is where I migrated to, but all other fediverse servers should have similar options)
1) Requested user account in fedimedi
2) Once granted an account, I went to the settings in the new account and pointed an Alias Account to my med-mastdon account.
3) In my med-mastodon I exported everything I could (see image), and I also requested a download of my profile.
4) by hand migrated all my profile info (pictures, text, etc..) from med-mastodon to fedimedi account.
4) Once everything was downloaded I went into the migration section and pointed my med-mastodon account to the fedimedi account. NOTE: this is the last step to be done in med-mastodon because the account is closed down (actually just suspended) and unless you click on recover before a set amount of time there is no going back.
4) As a precaution, check in new account that follow requests are initially open, it saves a lot of hassle. Afterwards you can change it to accept them manually if it how you have it set up in med-mastodon.
5) I only imported follows into the new account. I was unable to import bookmarks. I saw no use for my lists (or option to import them) and I'm looking at maybe creating new ones.
I think that your followers migrate with your account migration but, I also think that it is up to each follower to accept the change in their own account (this I am not sure).

As I said, in fedimedi as being a GoToSocial instance there is no web interface so I use ELK. But most mastodon instances have web interfaces.

@bich Hiya fellow expatriate from med-mastodon. I tried my hand at migrating to the FediMedi GoToSocial that @wild1145 and co. set up. I has been a bit of a bumpy road but it seems that I have managed to get things settled down.
First thing though, I got the account in FediMedi open. Set up what they call an "alias" with the handle @ med-mastodon format. Then in the med-mastodon I set up the migrate. Hahaha same thing, I entered the new handle and that handle's pwd, of course it kept giving me red until I read more carefully and entered the med-mastodon's handle password. Follows and Followers seem to have transferred correctly (although I did have to manually upload the CSV file with the accounts I follow).

Have not managed to get the bookmarks uploaded. I'm going to need help from @wild1145

Next up is the fact that the GoToSocial does not have a web interface of its own. I tried one of the suggestions in the FediMedi page and all I got was a terrible headache. @wild1145 mentioned in a post in med-mastodon that they have Elk in the other instances they manage. Tried the interface and I like it very much. Reset hashtags and lists.

Downloaded the profile from med-mastodon, will try my luck at uploading it, but probably until the weekend.

Oh, on a showy turn of events...we get 2000 char in this instance...wow
