@ginabythebay The programmer in me loves the fact that really good CNC operators are all about using algorithms to reduce cycle time and to optimize tool changes.
If the Titans of CNC weren't so in your face with their videos it would be more relaxing to watch.
Are there any relaxing CNC channels worth watching?
@ginabythebay It's a lost art - my Dad had a machine shop and we didn't even have a digital readout on any machines 
When I worked at the LEGO Group in Denmark I got to tour the machine shop - I looked for the milling machines and didn't see any ... they were there of course.
Beautiful 6 axis boxes that were able to do things that were impossible without tedious tool and work holding changes 40 years ago.
It's an amazing time to be alive, except for all the dumb stuff going on.

I made the switch about two years ago and use Podman for embedded systems development. It's much easier than spinning up a VM and combined with VSCodium makes a nice IDE that allows remote debugging.
