yes, corporate cultures and also personal circumstances can change rapidly -
a well-meaning and ethically motivated person may come under economic pressure or whatnot,
and be forced to make decisions they wouldnt make today.
and this has to be addressed by the general architecture of any platform project, and not by good intentions.

My criteria for a SoMe platform (whatever we wanna call it):
1/ Code is Free and open source - FLOSS
2/ No algorithms to prioritize, promote, suppress or otherwise influence content
(except what a user might choose for themselves)
3/ Platform is ad free
4/ Interoperability- what s missing?
Seen from this angle, are any of these worth looking at?
