I thesaurus’d “sand” to find an alternative word for “regolith” which is more non-scientist friendly but less beachy-Earth-images than “sand”. -

thinking about how there's a true solution to the trolley problem and union workers were the ones to point it out@agowa338 @SnoopJ That depends on
1. the speed and weight of the trolley;
2. the separation of the tracks;
3. the articulation of the bogies.If it's running at the speed of, say, the new Ontario light rail line, no one will get hurt because it's running too slow to fall over and will just stop in a short distance. If it's a Shinkansen, you've got problems.
But the unionised workers on the ground know which it is and can act appropriately

Quite a phenomenal campaign ad from the Greens down in England.@EF @LaChasseuse I think what makes the Greens different is precisely because they are not (yet) funded primarily by the very rich.
They will come under pressure to accept that money. It's much less work to fund raise a million pounds from just one ultra-rich #kleptocrat than from one hundred thousand ordinary people.
We'll see if they can continue to resist; #Labour have signally failed.

Far right UK Independence Party applies to change its official election symbol to one resembling the Iron Cross, previously used by Prussia & Germany (1871-1918) and the Nazi regime (1933-45).@newsguyusa presumably they feel the need to establish clear black-and-red water between themselves and #ReformUKLtd .
