With no algorithm, also don't forget to like and boost. Boosting helps posts move around, particularly to/from small instances that wouldn't normally see them.

Also lots of Fork people are joining. Many have no or little followers. Follow them and make them feel wanted so they keep coming back.

What you follow. Follow a few hundred people and a bunch of hashtags to get it really working for you.

Local feed
Just your instance (the fork one)

Federated feed.
Might have to enable to be able to view. All the feeds your server sees from all the parts of the Fediverse. As such there is all sorts of stuff, such as not safe for work, spam, lots of news bots. Blocking/muting lots, helps tame this down and allows you to scroll and find the occasional gems.

Also you can set up filters with words to block.

Muting/ blocking can also be done either permanently or down to 1 hour.

You can use lists to arrange people into different categories .

There is a hashtag tab, you can add a bunch of tags you are interested in, then just scroll through the results.
