This article is extremely good, but the real gem is the footnote to a McSweeny's article about "AI economics" https://www.mcsweeneys.net/articles/ai-economics-for-dummies@sundogplanets I kinda hate that the two best sources of news and explanation of current trends are The Onion and McSweeny's.

Bruce Banner canonically has 7 PhDs and honestly the fact that he periodically turns into a giant green ragemonster after spending that much time in academia without tenure is the most believable thing in the entire Marvel canon.@mhoye And with 7 PhDs he's canonically both an idiot and has commitment-to-reality issues, which also tracks. I mean, seriously. Nobody with any actual contact with the real world's going to go for 3 (or even 2) PhD's, let alone 7.
