@neurovagrant The real fun bonus parts are the scolds in the HN comments telling people that if they set this code they love up wrong then they deserve to be hacked, as if it's possible to set this thing up in a safe way as multiple hacks (including this one) demonstrate.
@Wen I kinda want someone to run a study on the researchers who ran this study to figure out why the heck they thought "chivalry" was ever an even vague reason behind this kind of nonsense.
@nora I admit "these people are just really fucking stupid" is my initial assumption these days. Granted, given all the available evidence that's probably extremely generous and unreasonably kind to the people in question, but you don't want to be *too* reality-based to start with these folks, that's just mean.
@SeanCasten I would love it if, just once, someone asked him point blank "you have the votes to pass this bill. Why didn't you bring it to the floor for a vote?"
I'd love it if that was asked repeatedly, every time it's appropriate, but I'd take just once as a change of pace.
@mhoye This bit later on:
"John: You realize this leads to there being over 30 million crazy people in the US?
Tyrone: Does that seem wrong?
John: ... a bit low, actually."
hurt my soul to think about, and also I agree with John which didn't make it any better.
