They mentioned that France has the biggest outdoor advertising company in the world, JCDecaux, and that passing laws that hurt the bottom line of such a big player is touchy. They also mentioned that putting ads in things like bus shelters is initially a good deal for the city, but over time they get less and less value out of it, "like with Uber". Either they are avid @pluralistic readers, or they've reached the same conclusions independently

It was organized by an NGO that has been keeping track of environmental hazards in the city for years.
