Most of our sunflowers died. A few grew but only very small or flowering too late. Except one.

One grew huge. It's ready now and I just cut it off and hung it in the attic to dry. It's obviously well adapted to whatever this new climate is and therefore will provide the seeds for next year.

My oldest chainsaw (Oleo-Mac 942) is the most reliable one. It smokes a bit and the carb needs re-tuning for the weather, but it starts every time and saws fast (if you keep the chain sharp).

Splitting black alder by axe is easy. But the occasional piece of maple tells me why people buy splitting machines.

Next some carting off and stacking, but I still need to sort through my concrete beam collection first to find a few more to stack the wood on.
