I've been doing my own websites for ages and totally agree 🧵 it is doable and satisfying.In my case, I even manage to keep my content mostly free of cussing, reader insults, and such, which @zicklepop will probably view as a deficiency, but I like it that way. (When I occasionally want to be not nice, I still find ways to express myself I consider civilized. Mostly, I do.)There's space for many different homegrown websites in the internet.
