@gerrymcgovern it is basically already way too late to think about saving anything when you look at the larger picture, the zeitgeist, people are going solar for the price cuts, not co2 although that is a nice side benefit

@gary_alderson I agree that civilizational collapse is coming. I see that as inevitable. However, civilizational collapse does not have to mean an entire environmental collapse. We must be good ancestors and seek to leave as much good soil, water, air as we can for those who must come after us.

We must treat energy as it is: a precious resource to not squander.
I am deeply concerned about the rise of these hyper scale data centres. We need to electrify our heating, cooling, and mass transit but instead we're building mass data centres and powering them with natural gas.
Eg, here in #Alberta, we are looking at adding natural gas power plants that would generate enough electricity to power 15 more Calgaries (our largest city).
