@dbattistella I assumed this was already happening decades ago, and abandoned google at that point. I hear leaving google is somehow very, very, very difficult for some people (???) so they have to keep warning eachother about the latest, and the latest, and the latest.
Really, we should stop using lmao these technologies. Makes me giggle to say this, as Ive been saying it for like 20 years, BEFORE these companies revealed (to the public) they were fascist.

@shwell1 @dbattistella You need to erase Firefox from that list, and make sure you use the noai version of DDG. Brave is a good alternative to FF.
@MiaMarkTwo Brave, as a project, has it's own issues. Issues just as bad as AI.

@dbattistella not for everyone, i know, but i traded in my secondhand iphone for a preloved, degoogled fairphone 3 & the app lounge is brilliant. no apple, no google. life is sweet as a nut.

@LukefromDC @dbattistella I have Tor , Vivaldi and Ungoogled Chromium and i use Mojeek search , DuckDuckgo . I have zero computer background , I am retired never worked in a office, if I ask my mates anything about tech they look at me as if I have two heads but I get there in the end

@feld@friedcheese.us @dbattistella@mstdn.ca @shwell1@aus.social depends on what ones means by alternative, if they mean frontend for YouTube, there are plenty on all platforms.
If one means another hosting or streaming service, the best foss alternative is peer tube and maybe owncast for streaming. -
