This is a bit of a double edged sword as these services (except Spotify, which should just disappear) actually do provide the livelihood of round about 300 people for each show / movie they produce.

While I'm not happy at all with their business practices nor a lot of their content, there is actual economic value here.

The decent thing here would be to just not consume the content.

I really don't care about capitalism.

For music: Download it via torrents and donate to the artists directly if you can afford it.
For movies etc.: Boycott those giant companies so they go bancrupt and those people can find good jobs at smaller, independent studios.

People depending on capitalism is not an argument to support, but to destroy capitalism, so they can be free.

You're right - in my last post I argued a bit too dogmatic.

Dependence is of course something you should try to ween off of, but at the same time something you can't easily escape - especially if you have a lot of other things to fight and can't concentrate all your efforts on that one issue.
I'm not trying to blame anyone participating in capitalism - we all do. But I applaud every step anyone takes.

I think my main point is, and I also think we agree on that, we need to make "the economy" work for the workers (in the wider sense) and that's where the streamers (excluding the cesspool Spotify, which doesn't give anything back) have a little different role from most of the other services.
Because film production is sort of a little "village" in and of itself, with carpenters, builders, tailors etc etc...
