    @sustainable_schools just in time for a new post (already shared a couple of hours ago in german, about to share the english link). Now I have some additional matching hashtags - post incoming...

    In general it's more the nutrition direction, but that overlaps with agriculture and environment - today's article particularly with sustainability.

    Well, upfront: Here's the link that soon gets its own post
    https://butterbei.de/en/posts/regenerative-agriculture-international-law/

    @ButterBeiDieFische

    Interesting read. Regenerative agriculture is often discussed from a farming point of view, so it was interesting to see it connected to international law.

    I don't see that topic come up very often in agriculture discussions. What made you decide to explore this angle? #regenerativeAgriculture

        @sustainable_schools I follow #Agriculture but have noted that there just isn't the same user-base here on Mastodon in the ag world from industry to research that there was on Twitter. There I could easily interact with other researchers but also follow growers and see what they're up to and read their thoughts. Here, it's few and far between it seems for whatever reason.

        @adamhsparks @sustainable_schools I would add that there is some fast-and-loose use of the #agriculture hashtag with it glued onto a bunch of automated posts that, I would argue, have little to do with the subject. That dilutes the feed even more.

            Hi #Mastodon community,

            You are amazing people to connect with! Thank you all for your support and for the helpful tips you shared on this thread. We have already started applying some of them.

            We are also starting to notice positive changes in our feed. We now see more posts about #agriculture the #environment #climatechange and other topics we care about.

            Thank you, #Fediverse

            @sustainable_schools It's great to see how meaningful engagement can shape a better feed experience.

            Conversations around sustainable agriculture, soil health, and environmental stewardship deserve more visibility. Wishing your network continued growth and impact across the Fediverse.

              @adamhsparks @sustainable_schools I’ve noticed the same. The agriculture community on Mastodon is smaller, but the conversations often feel more thoughtful and less driven by algorithms.

              Hopefully, as more farmers, researchers, and agribusiness professionals join, those connections will continue to grow.

                @sustainable_schools I'm exploring nutrition, specifically ketogenic nutrition. As this always requires a lot of explaining, I've followed nutritional science in the past 14 years, and one can't miss the food-quality and agricultural implications.

                As animals get a bad rep for what humans have done, this is another aspect, so I've also looked at livestock and particularly raising on pasture.

                The classic way to look at it is: Industrially produced meat is bad, so let's ... 1/2

                  ... go completely without meat. What's often left out is that there's a better way to produce meat, which can even beat industrial plant agriculture in various aspects, including climate-effects (no fertilizer required) and biodiversity.

                  I'm working on an article on Allan Savory's principle, and have published https://butterbei.de/en/posts/pasture-raised-ruminants/ earlier, and there are several related articles linked from both articles, on plant- and animal-agriculture...

                    @harisharandevgan Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Since we joined Mastodon to learn from other farmers, connect with like-minded people, and stay inspired by what others are doing, what do you think we should do to build those connections and find more agricultural content?

                    We would love to hear any tips from your experience. 😊

                      @sustainable_schools I'll be happy to recommend some people! Maybe you already know them.
                      If I think of more people, I will let you know.

                      There are larger accounts like @eupn

                      and people such as:
                      @theloopfarm
                      @yngmar
                      @rancholibertad
                      @Matt_Noyes
                      @HorcaDobleMango

                      There are also a lot of gardeners. You may be interested in the #gardening or #permaculture hashtag.

                        @theloopfarm We found this website very interesting, and we thought that by boosting it, it could help even more people than you expected.

                        Thank you, friend, for standing with us and supporting our work. We are a group of young people trying to create positive change in schools and communities by teaching sustainable projects and sharing practical skills.

                        One of our main goals is to reduce dependence on junk food in schools and encourage students to eat food they grow themselves, even on small pieces of land. Our role is to teach the whole process from germination and planting to harvesting and finally preparing food for the table.

                          @sustainable_schools Thanks for asking! I’d focus on engaging with farmers and agriculture-focused accounts regularly, sharing your own experiences, and joining conversations around sustainable farming. Consistent interaction often leads to the strongest connections.

                            We followed some hashtags hoping they would give us a more organized feed. However, we still rarely see posts about #sustainability #farming #climatechange the #environment or #agriculture

                            Why is that? Are we missing something, or is there a better way to connect with people who share our interests and values on the #Fediverse if their posts are not appearing in our feed?

                            We would appreciate any advice from more experienced #Fediverse users.

                            Ex:

                            Hashtag: #cdnPoli
                            (Shows just toots your server knows about)

                            Account: @cdnpoli
                            (Shows you toots from everyone publishing to tags.pub, anywhere!)
