@MyView @poleguy I think it's one of those things where people think they are choosing something, but when they're given a chance to properly try an alternative a lot of people do switch to the alternative.Like... a lot of people eat junk food, but if they're given easy access to high quality tasty food a lot will switch.It's easy to get stuck in a certain way if those are the only options available to you.I'm not saying it'll work for everyone, but I think it's worth trying

@rrgeorge Yup, the admin can switch them off at their discretion. (I've included instructions in the guide on how admins can do this as it's not very obvious.)It really depends on the server whether invitations are appropriate or not, it's the admin's call to decide.

@IAmDannyBoling @tsyum Yes, reboosting later will make the toot reappear in your followers' timelines.Reboosting definitely works, lots of people use it to reach other time zones by leaving 6-12 hours between reboosting.

Mastodon being aimed at a general non-technical audience was a real breakthrough, as was curating instance lists, the covenant etc.And thank you especially for putting the project's non-profit status first when you turned down buyouts in 2022, this was a crucial moment that showed real integrity.All the best for your future
