In #OpenStreetMap the most commonly used tag for veganisme is diet:vegan. This is pretty strange, especially to tag for example a clothes (shoe) shop with diet:vegan : only.

@janvlug I think I've used this tag on a tattoo shop, too. It's definitely not ideal.

@anderslund I think that the prefix "diet" in the tag "diet:vegan" is not really correct. Veganism is not a diet, and also not only about eating and drinking.
I would say veganism is more an ethical point of view to do not harm animals in any way. A vegan clothes and shoe shop tagging with "diet:vegan" is a bit strange.

@janvlug diet:That is kinda what I sayy? vegan is relevant for food, but quite obviously not for other produce. So a way of tagging non-animal-harming produce other than food is missing. That is concrete, and not bringing political or philosophycal concepts into the discussion.

@anderslund @janvlug IIRC the tag was originally vegan, but various people systematically them to diet:*. Also applies to things like kosher and halal.
(My hairdresser uses vegan products).
