I’ve been sprinkling crowberry powder on everything lately. It adds an earthy, tart fruitiness to my: oatmeal, smoothies, ice cream, yogurt. I need to think of other uses for it. Mine’s from Iceland; but crowberries grow in the wild in Alaska & Labrador, too. It makes me smile when I think about trying to sneak it into as many things as I can find, like I’m magically adding some “Iceland” to whatever I’m eating. Crowberry is an arctic superfood with exceptional antioxidant properties. #crowberry

@SharonCrockett Sounds delicious! When I look it up in Danish it comes out as “tranebær” but that is cranberries and that can’t be it? I have to research further!

@SharonCrockett Oh, so funny, that are actually called “kragebær” (krage = crow) and grow on what we call “lyng”, which I normally see translated as heather. I didn’t know you could eat them.

@tanyakaroli They’re a milder type of blueberry that grows in low-lying bushes mostly in arctic regions. The powder form is delicious. You can buy it here:

@samerfarha I need to try that. Sounds like it would really good on savory dishes; I'm thinking roast chicken.

@SharonCrockett I keep a flame thrower, err, food torch in the kitchen so I can just hit the top of a chocolate bar or store bought brownies with enough heat to make them sticky and then sprinkle salt on them. Also: Trader Joe’s dark chocolate peanut butter cups out of the fridge and into a bowl of Maldon is life changing.

@samerfarha I'll skip the flame thrower, but will be trying the trick with the Trader Joe's treats! 😋
