Can anyone help with identifying this object please? Found on a beach in Fife, Scotland. It’s very light, definitely not a stone. I was wondering if it could be part of the spine of a cetacean? #AskFedi

You’d need to ask a zoologist about the functional adaptations of the ancestral spine to living in water rather than land re weightbearing etc.

@thebaywindowgirl it definitely looks like a spinal bone of some sort. But I don't know enough for a positive Id of the species. The fact that it is round the way it is makes me think that it is very weathered and thus more difficult to identify.
