Alright now that I shared my awesome new job, I can finally share with you how moving abroad is going.
-
Me, after improving my French for months, now having to learn Spanish.
#moveabroad #Spain@Gina I learned French in school and then worked in Catalonia for 6-7 years, sometimes I wouldn’t know which language I was doing a disservice to, Catalan, Spanish, French or even Italian

#moveabroad #Spain@Gina ¡buena suerte!
-
@Gina "Bonjour, amigos" is exactly what it's like - when your brain is confident that it knows how to say everyday phrases but your brain brain starts to question whether you've woken up in a different country and need to adjust on the fly...
I kinda love it.
@eseilt lol I call it 'speaking fluent European.'

@Gina the most important thing is not which language you order your coffee in, but knowing what the words "caffe", "espresso", "latte" etc. mean locally. It changes from town to town sometimes.

#moveabroad #SpainTu parles français avec des a et des o à la fin et c'est bon tu parles espagnol

#moveabroad #Spain@Gina I particularly love English to Spanish false cognates. A couple of my favorites:
English groceries are not Spanish grocerias
I may be embarrassed but I'm not embarazada

#moveabroad #Spain@Gina the more important being able to ask for a beer in all country, so basically if you are able to ask "une bière s'il vous plaît" and "una salvezza por favor" , you got it !

-
@xconde I would sell my dead grandma and a left kidney to live in Kiama.

The way that this is a perk. 🫏 #housesearch #Spain
@Gina Heh, reminds me of my sister when they bought their latest house. It came with two fully grown peacocks living in the garage.

#moveabroad #Spain@Gina it's been many years since I took high school Spanish, but that was the foundation for getting to know a lot of languages around the world (even if I have no other idea)
I should pick it up again. I have ancestry out of Spanish-speaking countries (Spain, Mexico).
-
France still seems nice as well.
@Gina and you could have dope neighbours

Girona is cute, but not a place I'd move to. Tomorrow I'm going back to Platja d'Aro and then Barcelona.
Let's hope it's not Barcelona.

#moveabroadEdit: also I'm really trying to take into account that it won't be this hot all year, but it's hotter than Satans armpit here.

@Gina I am moving abroad as well. But I need some things first, like the CISSP cerificate. Why, cause i need a good employer. Toulouse is fine. And you don't need to be french speaking. Even i have studied several times.
