As I reflected on what I experienced at #FOSDEM, the idea of organizing a devroom dedicated to #diversity was born.
Together with @Gina @_elena we submitted the proposal to organise a #DEI devroom at #FOSDEM27. It got rejected.
Every year we leave #FOSDEM inspired by the people we meet & the passion for #opensource. And every year we also find ourselves thinking about how much greater it could be if more people with different perspectives were part of those conversations.

Never give up! @btel @Gina @_elena Our goal was to deliver talks inspiring everyone who feels underrepresented in #FOSS to take up space. We wanted to create a positive and inclusive track, with lots of humor, and with moments to reflect on how we can all become better allies. We wanted to discuss community, leadership, and representation in the #FOSS ecosystem. Of course we wanted to reflect on how to make future #FOSDEM events more diverse and welcoming for all. #dei

This track could have been an opportunity to include some fresh perspectives and talk about diversity in #FOSS.
We had an awesome group of organizers coming from @nextcloud , @openproject , @fdroidorg , Red Hat, @SUSE , @drupal , @linuxfoundation EU, and OSPO's.
We were so excited that we were already designing stickers and organizing funds for speakers

This track could have been an opportunity to include some fresh perspectives and talk about diversity in #FOSS.
We had an awesome group of organizers coming from @nextcloud , @openproject , @fdroidorg , Red Hat, @SUSE , @drupal , @linuxfoundation EU, and OSPO's.
We were so excited that we were already designing stickers and organizing funds for speakers

@RosannaSibora That's disappointing. I've never been since it's on the other side of the planet, but I'm guessing it's in dire need of some diversification.
