@whitequark@treehouse.systems i can tolerate equipment sitting idle (with how making videos looks like behind the scenes, he may even have plans for some of it, just lack the time - and I’m not trying to defend him, just speaking from my own experience)…
but I stopped watching the guy after that hardware gore SEM teardown. it was so fucking sad to watch

@whitequark Is that $100k retail or ebay price? Because I've gotten a lot of 5-figure test equipment for "broken computer" kind of scrap prices.

I'll add this next to "milliRonkainen".
One milliRonkainen is defined as the amount of surplus equipment (colloquially known as "bonk" in Finnish radio hobbyist circles) in one (1) Toyota Hiace van.
Thus one full Ronkainen of surplus is one thousand Toyata Hiace loads. -

From what I hear, they were offered help from some very talented folks, including professional SEM repair people to bring it back into a working condition. -
