The photographer AJ Smadi has a good reputation and a good portfolio.
https://www.instagram.com/aj.smadi/?hl=enHis prints are available for purchase at https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/adam-smadi?tab=artwork&page=1
His works have been featured on NASA APOD and on the Planetary Society pages.
He explains a bit on his Instagram post how he took this image. It is a composite of multiple images taken at different exposure levels during the eclipse. The moon image is probably very highly overexposed.
So, I think this is real.
Just confirming it is a composite image.
It looks great. It just obviously cannot be a single exposure (at least to anyone who has tried to take a great shot of the moon)

Olympian Spanish skateboarder Danny León performed this perfectly time stunt - a stalefish off a half pipe - in front of the eclipsed Sun on 12 August 2026.

19/n@AkaSci I’ve seen two videos giving slightly different angles of this, and I prefer the less closeup one where the ramp’s curve is flush with the edge of the moon/sun so that he looks like he actually has wheels on the curve of the eclipse. But who am I to nitpick?? It’s an amazing shot.🤩

19/nA day after the total solar eclipse on Earth, Mars experienced a solar eclipse as its moon Phobos crossed in front of the Sun!
At just 11 km across and orbiting 5,989 km above Mars, Phobos does not fully occlude the disk of the Sun.
This image was acquired on Aug. 13, 2026 at the local mean solar time of 10:13:50 by NASA's Perseverance Mars rover.

20/n@AkaSci I hope you didn’t look directly at the sun to get this photo!

@lkanies @AkaSci
I think most of us would call it bracketed exposures.Sensors have wide dynamic ranges, but we use our retinas in a similar way on, eg, a landscape in sunset, shading our eyes in order to see the landscape, and assembling the experience from the different exposures.
Composite implies something else, artistic rather than technical.

One of many outstanding pics of the total solar eclipse of 12 August 2026 taken by AJ Smadi, astrophotographer from Seattle, WA.
The sun and moon loom over the 800 year old Burgos Cathedral in Spain. "The final result contains much more data from the multiple exposures of the solar corona, even revealing the night side of the Moon."
spectacular!

️it doesn't for me. I think of all hdr as composite, one can look more or less natural.
