Germany spent approximately a lifetime working itself out from under the shadow of O.G. Nazism - today, all of that might be undone & people will once again default to assuming that if they're hearing a german accent, that person is probably goose-stepping to work every day.
I'm not kidding; if any part of a nation with their history lets the fash back in, it will look like they were just biding their time & none of the "Never again" was sincere.

What stumps me most is that a lot of legal safeguards against resurgent Nazis were put into the constitution AND NOBODY WANTS TO USE THEM??!?My main hope is that this will run the same course as most other formerly communist countries in eastern Europe, which all mostly had a right-wing period before coming to their senses. But of course, Germany should have known better.
