Also, the problem with techno-feudal platforms isn't what their algorithms do - as @pluralistic says, the problem is who it does it to & who it does it for.
Amazon's algorithm could help buyers & sellers find each other, but that doesn't maximize Bezos' profits. What does is sucking ever more value out of the transaction until there's nothing left for either of them.
