Today I learned that asking for help on #3dprinting will immediately result in an avalanche of suggestions to dry my filament. Even if it was just unpacked. From a vacuum sealed bag. That had silica gel in it.

One guy suggested I do a #temptower and looking into the print temperature. ONE GUY!

Turns out lowering the temperature from 250°C to 225°C fixed my problem. As opposed to ordering a €150 #filament #dryer. #Pragmatism for the win.

Here's a video about temp towers and why they're important: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WR2tRwzFlq0

@saustrup I was just about to suggest adjusting the temperature, but then you already figured that out.
I gave up on our 3D-printer because it is so temp sensitive. It’s too annoying.
Now my hubby works with one of the more expensive Bamboo lab printers at work, and it does not seem to need anywhere near the same amount of fiddling, to make succesful prints.
      It just prints.

@Trine_DK @saustrup As an aside, if you do decide you need a dryer after all (it can be useful sometimes), just make one from a cheap food dehydrator - no need to buy one of those expensive bastards 😁 I have almost exactly this one & it works fine: https://bluepapertech.com/3d-printing/making-a-filament-dryer-from-a-food-dehydrator/
